WADF Exchange Programme

– Dancers/Pupils –

Dancers/Pupils

Dance Schools/Clubs and Institutions who have Dancers/Pupils wanting to study and improve their own dancing in a special subject have the opportunity to notify their interest by sending in the special form for Schools with dancers interested in the Exchange Programme with other Schools who have special skills in a specific subject.

Dance Schools/Clubs and Institutions who are interested in taking part in the Exchange Programme and are willing to accept guest pupils may send in the form for Schools offering training. It is possible that these Schools/Clubs and Institutions also have Dancers/Pupils who are interested in taking part in the Exchange Programme, they too can send in the form for Schools having dancers interested in the programme.

The general idea is to develop a format for dancers to study and improve their skills in WADF dance disciplines not only in their own School or Club but to improve their skills by visiting others who may well meet and make friends with dancers at that school and could then return the favour by taking exchange students in their home school or club. In this way friendships among dancers within the WADF family will develop and improve.

Guidelines for the
Guest Dancers – Host Schools/Clubs

All dancers who would like to participate in the Exchange Programme have to be registered as a dancer in a WADF Member’s database and likewise the host School or Club must be a Member of the WADF. The School or Club, where the guest dancer is active and competing for, is responsible for dealing with the  Host School/Club in co-operation with the guest dancer’s parents unless the dancer is an Adult.

It is recommended to send a short CV in the message slot when filling out the application form, indicating in which disciplines the guest dancer is competing and wish to study. It is recommended that the Host School/Club that is accepting guest dancers indicate, in the message slot when filling out the application form, in which disciplines the School/Club is working and in particular if they have special knowledge in special disciplines. The guest dancer is obliged to have a valid international health insurance together with all the necessary documents, (passport, authorization from parents if not an Adult).

After a contact has been established between a guest dancer’s School or Club and the Host School or Club it is very important to clarify details in regards to:

a.) Travel arrangements. Normally the dancer will pay his or her own travel expenses.

b.) Lodging details, where the guest dancer will stay and if parents will be present or not.

c.) The period the guest dancer will stay in the Host School or Club and the dates of the period.

d.) If possible, it would be nice if the Host School or Club in return sends dancers to the guest dancers School or Club and in that way develop friendships between the Schools or Clubs.
